Project profiles

Shoreham House

Shoreham, Mornington Peninsula, 2012

Strung in a row of three connected pavilions, the Shoreham beach house enjoys uninterrupted and extensive views of Westernport Bay. The brief called for a response not only to its site, but to a family with older children and the need to provide zoned living and bedroom areas. Internally, timeless details reign, whilst the external form is complemented by a warm material palette of locally quarried stone and recycled timber.

Kensington House

Melbourne, 2012

The complete transformation of an existing weatherboard cottage into a sophisticated inner-city residence saw Alison Dodds Architect maximise light, ventilation and space in this project. The client’s desire for a low toxic house also saw Alison Dodds Architect research, source and specify healthy building materials that were free of MDF and formaldehyde.

Fitzroy Terrace House

Melbourne, 2008

The extension and renovation of a single fronted Victorian terrace to accommodate the needs of a young family. The brief was to predominantly retain the front two rooms in their existing state, other than painting and repair work, whilst demolishing the rest of the house in order to rebuild at ground and first floor levels in a contemporary style.
